The draw for the ATP Finals was released in Turin this afternoon, putting eight players into two groups and producing a tight opening programme that begins on Sunday.
The groups
Group A is the deeper on paper with the world number two, the in-form qualifier and the Italian number one. Group B has the defending champion and three players who have all been inside the world top ten in the past twelve months. We break down each group in turn, with the surface tendencies and the head-to-head notes.
Defending champion
The defending champion opens against the qualifier who has won ten of his last eleven indoor matches. The match-up favours the champion on serve but presents the qualifier with the chance to dictate from the back of the court.
Schedule
The round-robin runs from Sunday to Friday, with the semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday. Tickets are sold out but our live coverage begins at 17:00 UTC on day one.
